A quick off-topic which I intend to make an on-topic
A college of mine sang some praises about MongoDB - a NoSQL database which is becoming more and more popular. He went into full research mode and as a result we are going to change one of our OLTP system’s database from Oracle to MongoDB.
I started reading about the technology and after spending no more than 2-3 days, I already feel like an expert, because these guys have made it a rule to keep things as simple and automatic as possible. I’m very impressed with how simple it is to create a cluster, take backups and perform other operations. I’m going to invest more time in MongoDB and will definitly share.
